As usual, for any big motorcycle event in France, the motorways (autoroutes) are free for motorcycles going to the event. The famous motorcycle endurance race, the Bol d'Or is no exception (and as previously reported, the Millau bridge is also free).

At the autoroutes and at some of the national roads are biker rest stops, called "Relais Motards Calmos". You'll usually find, apart from many other bikers, places to rest, eat, fill up, put air in your tires, clean visors, get mechanical help ,etc. The Relais Calmos are made possible thanks to the local authorities and the FFMCFederation Francaise des Motards en Colere - Angry French Biker Association, an association of bikers fighting for the rights of motorcycle riders.

Note
: Since there's a large concentration of motorcycles, you'll also find a large concentration of Police trying to make pretty, but very expensive, photos of you racing your motorcycle, so be warned!

So here are the motorcycle rest stops for the Bol d'Or Open link in a new window motorcycle race held 12-13 September.

NOTE
: The number in brackets in the title is the Department number (province number). Click on the blue globe for a zoomable map. Some of the locations are approximate!

WARNING
: There will be a lot of Police speed radars installed along the major roads there. Sunday, the mobile Police force will be out in massive numbers, so watch your speed!

Note
: Below is a map with all rest places. This map will only work if you have loaded just this article, and are not viewing it from the home page. Click on the headline to just load this article.
