One of world's craziest and toughest beach races is being held again at the end of the month during the last weekend. The Le Touquet Enduropale , started by the same folks who brought you the Dakar rally, sees 1,000 motorcycles race on the beach of Le Touquet for 3 hours. It's a race that if you have the chance you should not miss. Entrance is free, and expect a lot of motorcycles there. Usually there are between 200,000 and 500,000 spectators, obviously depending on the weather (it is still mid winter here). As usual, when there's a major motorcycle race in France, the Association of Angry Bikers (FFMC ), the government and the autoroute companies place several rest areas for the motorcycle riders attending a race. This year's Enduropale, world's craziest and biggest beach race, is no exception. But since it's still winter, there are less rest places. The motorcycle rest places, known as "Relais Motards Calmos", are places where you'll find like-minded bikers, hot drinks, sandwiches, and possibly mechanical repair stations. Check the link posted below in the "Related Articles" for more information about the Relais Calmos Motards. NOTE: The number before the "/" in the title is the Department number (province number). Click on the blue globe for a zoomable map. Some of the locations are approximate! NOTE2: In the general map, clicking on a red marker will give you the same information about the Relais Calmos. The black motorcycle icon is the venue of the race. WARNING: There will be a lot of Police speed radars installed along the major roads there. Sunday, the mobile Police force will be out in massive numbers, so watch your speed! NOTE: The map can only be viewed when only the single article is loaded, so not via the main (front) page. Click on the (blue) headline to load just this article (if it is red, than it has been loaded).
