That "normal" taxi operators have problems with motorcycle taxis is a given. Motorcycle taxis are much more dependable to get a passenger to their destination on time, and spend less time on the road. But it's not like motorcycle taxis are taking away the bread out of the mouth of car taxis. Anything but that. Motorcycle taxis are there, realistically, for busy business people and celebrities. They can't take more than one person, and they can take very little luggage. There is a chronic shortage of car taxis in Paris, and the cab owners do not want to see their numbers increased. Car taxis have waged a war on motorcycle taxis since the beginning, often resulting in real physical confrontations. But legally, there is nothing they can do about it. Motorcycle taxis fill a void, and they better start getting used to it. But unfortunately, this is not the case. Cab drivers have turned to nasty tricks. They have for the 2nd time in a month vandalized the information desk of City-Bird at Orly airport, wrecking furniture, cutting computer cables, making it impossible for the motorcycle taxi company to operate. To think that this happened at a busy international airport. Makes you wonder what security was doing at the airport, if vandals can come and tear down a place without being spotted!! This means that anyone can come in when there are no airplanes and sabotage equipment that can cost lives. Shame on the taxi drivers, and more shame on the airport authorities....
