France have recently gone through a very lengthy and detailed review of their ecology, and what to do about it. Representatives of all walks of life were present, discussing all the possible actions that France has to undertake in order to relieve our dying planet. The President of France had committed before the meeting, that anything that was in full agreement by all participants, will be done. One of the agreements that everyone agreed to, was to replace the aging vehicle park. We all know that the newer cars pollute less and consume less fuel than older ones. To nudge owners of older cars to buy new ones, the idea is to give a "bonus" of €1000 to the owner of old cars who dump them. Not too shabby, €1000 will get you very far in buying a new vehicle. Now here the clincher.... this only applies to cars, not motorcycles. If you have an old motorcycles, maybe even a two-stroke dating back to the Fred Flintstone era, tough luck. Just keep riding it, keep polluting the atmosphere, since the government doesn't really care. On one hand motorcycles are blamed to pollute more than cars (not true, as reports have now established), on the other hand, we don't pollute enough to merit a subsidy of the government to buy a new motorcycles. As usual, the FFMCFederation Francaise des Motards en Colere - Angry French Biker Assocation is on the case. It's just not fair.. we can never get to win!
