As predicted, the sales of motorcycles and scooters in France during 2009 were pretty bad. Officially, sales were down 15.8%, which is pretty bad, with only 200,017 model sold compared to 237,695 during 2008.. But, there's a glimmer of hope in these bad figures. Because the Piaggio MP3 is not taken into account in motorcycle/scooter sales, because of the three wheels, if you add the explosion of sales of the Piaggio MP3 (2,933 MP3-250 and 11,106 MP3-400 - they also sold 34 MP3 Hybrids, not bad after only 1 1/2 month of sales), sales actually "only" fell 10%. Which is not bad considering the bad economy. So, in reality, only a drop of 10%.
