	France: Paris Airport Motorcycle Discount Parking 12 July 2010   File under  Travel France   Author: Mike Werner   Location: Travelling It used to be that you could just ride up to one of the two main airports of Paris (Charles de Gaulle and Orly), and park in any of the parking garages, even the short term ones, and not pay a dime (or centime). But those days are over, and on top of that, the crime rate is high in the parking garages Yes, cars get broken into more often than bikes, but I've had a motorcycle mangled by probably dissatisfied air travellers. So cming back from a flight, you always wonder what the state of your motorcycle is going to be... So, it's no real surprise to see a company that is offering an off-airport parking dedicated to motorcycles (they do offer car parking as well). Called Pr Discount (P being the sign for Parking, r being that of "Reduced"), the company has an interesting offer for motorcycles: Sheltered Secure (they use patrolling guards) locker space for helmet and other motorcycle gear 24/7 shuttle service to the airport (Roissy/Charles de Gaulle) They are located some 7 kilometers from the airport, and you can reserve a spot via the internet. Their pricing structure is interesting. In fact, a chuck of the fee goes for the shuttle service. If you let's say book for a 24 hour period, it'll cost you e.g. €30, but if you go for 7 days, it'll cost you €46. So, it's really interesting if you're gone for a few days. When you arrive, you give them a call while waiting for your luggage. By the time you're out, the shuttle will be waiting for you. The only thing missing is that they clean your bike while you're away...mine could use it.
