French police and authorities have been denying that they have ticket quotas for years. We all know different, and some cops have admitted in private that they do have quotas, but so far, there never has been any proof. Until now... French daily newspaper, Le Parisien , have managed to obtain confidential documents contradicting the official story. The confidential document comes from the Paris Police Department, and it clear states that police officers need to write out specific number of tickets per year. They must issue a yearly total of 17,000 parking tickets in Paris, some 400 tickets must be issued for motorcycles riding in the bus lane, and 170 tickets must be issued for vehicles going through a red light. Cops are forced to reach the ticket quota. If they do, they can receive a cash bonus of €600 if the quota is reached. So now we know. At least the Parisian police can be happy with me. I think I supplied them with 50% of their ticket quotas. Source
