Hot after the news earlier of the first case of an airbag jacket saving the life of a biker in the USA {link}, the French motorcycle magazine Moto Revue Open link in a new window tested the Protair Open link in a new window airbag jacket. They used a stuntman who "dropped" off his bike at some 75 kph.

After a few rolls on the road, he walked away. There's a video on their site, showing the stunt, plus an interview with the stuntman (in French).

I'd say, if you need a new jacket, having ones of these might be an interesting option. I somehow don't think it can hurt, and who knows, it might just save your life.
