Germany is the last frontier for people who want to ride their motorcycles (and cars) fast without being caught speeding. With their unlimited-speed Autobahns, you can ride as fast as you want, limited only by your motorcycle and your guts. But obviously there's a price to pay; traffic accidents cause yearly 5,000 deaths and 400,000 wounded. One third of these accidents are attributed to excessive high speeds. To make drivers think about their speeds, the German officials have placed enormous high billboards alongside the motorways in the shape of a death notice, the kind you send to your family when someone dies. It's meant to shock drivers. This sign says "Gabi, Frank, Mia and Max T. wanted to go home quickly", followed by "Slow down" (or "lift your foot"). Apparently the sign works. Germans have been slowing down, causing less accidents. But then the question is, is it the campaign, or is it the high petrol price?
