As you probably know, the Dutch are very much into bicycles. Almost everyone has one, and when you visit The Netherlands you stand a bigger chance of being run down by a bicycle than a car. Bicycles are in their veins and DNA. So it's no surprise they know how to teach young kids how to ride a bicycle. Dunecraft make balance bikes, so no pedals. It "forces" the child to learn how to balance a bicycle (and later a motorcycle) by walking and shoving the bicycle. The Dunecraft balance bike is based on a 1920 Isle of Man TT racing motorcycle , and if you look at it, you can see the resemblance. The bicycle is made out of top quality birch wood, and is equipped with a stand. The workmanship is 100% hand-made, this is no mass production bicycle. The bike is intended for kids from age 3 or above, with a minimum height of 86 cms. The seat can be adjusted to three heights, 35, 36.6 and 38 cms (13.8, 14.4 and 15 inch) so when you kids grows, you can continue using the bike. There are different colors and options available for these kid's bicycles, with prices varying between €550 and €675. Bikes are made in limited quantities, so you'll need to check with the site to see what's available. And when your kid has outgrown his bicycle, you can always place this beautiful motorcycle bicycle in your living room. But trust me... if you've got a young child, this is a winner.
