It looks like Harley-Davidson motorcycles is going high-tech. Not their motorcycles but their accessories. Harley have introduced their Road Tech Bluetooth 2 helmet system.

This wireless headset fits on almost any helmet type (integral, flip-up and jet), and can be moved from helmet to helmet. The Bluetooth 2.0 system allows you to listen to stereo music, talk on your mobile phone or listen to your GPS give you navigation instructions.

The Road Tech gives you 120 standby hours (so no talking), and 13 hours of talking or listening to music. An advantage is that the unit is water-resistant, so a little bit of rain will not bother it.

You don't need to Harley supplied helmet for this, any helmet will do.

They also sell an adaptor that will allow you to convert any non-wireless device (like an MP3 player or even phone) into a Bluetooth 2.0 device that can communicate with the Road Tech.

The kit even includes a Push To Talk (PTT) button (probably for bike-to-bike walkie-talkies). You can use the adaptor for 176 hours in standby, and 7.5 hours in talk mode.

Cost: US$100
