As we all know by now, the Hells Angels protect their trademarked logos almost violently, even more than big name companies like Disney or Coca-Cola. In fact, in a trademark dispute, my money is on the Hells Angels. This time, the Hells Angels motorcycle group is taking fashion designer Alexander McQueen's design company and retailers Saks and Zappos (an Amazon company) to court. The 1%er group is claiming an infringement of their famous (and notorious) death-head mark. The death-head mark was used, amongst others, in the "Hells Angels Jacquard Box Dress" (pictured on the left - click on image for more info), sold for US$1,595. One of Alexander McQueen's handbags, the "Hell's Knuckle Duster" and others are being sold on Zappos.com for US$2,329 (see image below - click on image for more info). Of course Alexander McQueen can't be taken to court, since he died last February. But all gloves are off for the companies involved. No mention for how much they are taking these companies to court, but it's not going to be for beer money. That'll teach you to mess with the Angels.
