This is a great idea. Many bikers would love to have a fully customized motorcycle helmet, but the cost of bringing your helmet to a specialized design shop who will airbrush your helmet is prohibitive. Spanish helmet maker NZI have come up with a very novel way of putting whatever your want on your helmet. You decide what is put on your helmet in an easy 6 step process. Called NZI 3D , all you need to do is a) select your helmet type (three types are available - 2 types of jet/open and 1 integral helmet ) and b) upload your photos or graphics. Their web site takes care of the rest. Two points of caution; 1) your photos or graphics must be pretty big, a minimum size of 2485 by 1994 pixels is required, though for best results a size of 4142 by 2990 pixels is recommended. 2) you can only use their web site with Micro$oft's Internet Explorer 6 or higher (so no Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Opera or Firefox). You will also need to download their special free plug-in. But it's a small price to pay for a customized helmet. Once you run through the process, your helmet can look anyway you want: The web site runs you step by step through the customization process (watch the video below to see how the customize your helmet): You can let your imagination run wild here. Put up a photo of your mother, partner, dog or favorite sheep. How about your local football club? Political party? I'd love to make a helmet that looks like this. It's simple, and not too expensive. Prices start at €119 and go up to $479. Not bad, since that includes the helmet. Maybe one day we can hold a contest for the best and most original customized helmets.
