The Nurburgring race circuit is an old and famous race circuit in Germany. It has been built back on 1920 with a very long race track around the castle on the hills. One of the toughest and most demanding race circuits in the world has seen many world champions race there, and also many movies and TV shows (like the famous Top Gear show) were made on the circuit. The circuit has open days when anyone and his dog can do a few laps, on car, motorcycle or other forms of transportation. The Nurburgring name is as old and established as Le Mans, Silverstone and many other famous circuits. But it's not going to last. This time it's not the ecological movement that is trying to close down the circuit. It's an amalgamation of government and private enterprise stupidity and greed that is going to close it down. A private company that is running the area into the ground, helped by local government, has gone so far as to shut down discussion forums put in place to try to help the circuit survive. If you read the articles written so far, your hairs are going to stand straight up (click here to read the story ). A group of people who are trying to do right have organized an on-line petition that will be presented to the European Commission, since the Germany government is turning a blind eye to what's happening. Since the circuit is famous all over the world, anyone, anywhere, can sign. So please help save this circuit. All it will take is a few minutes time to fill in the petition. Click here to help save the Nurburgring . Thank you.
