Here's something you can learn when surfing the web. We all have probably heard of Jaguar . The British luxury car manufacturer needs no introduction. They are not only luxurious, but fast, just look at the 24 hours of Le Mans. But did you know that Jaguar started in the motorcycle industry? Jaguar came into existence when a 21 year old Bill Lyons met William Walmsley. William was busy building stylish sidecars for the prevalent motorcycles. Bill Lyons saw a good product and together in 1922 they created the Swallow Sidecar Company. They pioneered the use of aluminium for their motorcycle sidecar, and it was quite a hit. In 1927, the famous Austin Seven car was introduced, a small 2 seater car, and Lyons said to himself, that this was cool, and that there was a market for it. Using his knowledge in manufacturing luxury sidecars, they went on to make motorized sidecars without a motorcycle, i.e., cars. For several years, until 1932, they continued manufacturing sidecars and cars, and then went on to producing the now famous Jaguar cars. The name Jaguar came into play in 1935. So there you go. Jaguar started in the motorcycle industry. So maybe this Jaguar motorcycle is not so far fetched after all {link}. Click here to read more about it
