Honda, as worlds largest motorcycle manufacturer needs no introduction. Even non-motorcycle riders know the name (even if it's for their cars, though Honda started in the motorcycle business). Honda's Fireblade needs little introduction as well, especially for the sport bike community. At the Paris "Mondial du Deux Roues" Motorcycle Exhibition , the Japanese constructor showed off a new version of their popular super sports motorcycle, the CBR1000RR Fireblade. The super sports motorcycle has a very clean aerodynamic line, visually very pleasing. The nose is more aggressive looking and more compact, while the rear receives a smaller, lighter and more compact seat and tail cowl. The new compact mirrors incorporate the turn indicators. The new and lighter engine (2.5 Kgs lighter), despite stricter environmental regulations, generates more power; 130.7 kW at 12,000 rpm. Torque is an astounding 113.8 Nm at 8,500 rpm. The 4 in-line cylinders, 16 valves engine are water cooled. Ready-to-ride weight is 199 Kgs, with a full 17.7 liter fuel tank (including the 4 liter reserve). The instrument panel is sober: analog rpm, the rest is digital. There are the usual indicators of low fuel, ignition, turn and high beam. The Fireblade has a new Assist Slipper clutch, for smoother downshifting, and a lighter clutch feel, important when running into tight turns. Finally, the exhaust is made out of titanium. Four different colors are offered: - Graphite Black (with Candy Glory Red) - Pearl Sunbeam White (with Graphite Black) - Winning Red (with Graphite Black) - Graphite Black
