Strange, but true. The Supreme Court of India has ruled that any new motorcycle bought in India, the dealer must sell you an approved helmet. In other words, if you're buying a new motorcycle or scooter, and you already have a helmet, them-is-the-breaks, you'll need to fork out extra money to buy yet another helmet. According to the Supreme Court, if you can afford a new motorcycle, then surely you afford another helmet. I can understand that many people, particularly in a warm country, elect to ride without a helmet, specially when they know no better, and that the judges force dealers to sell helmets to them. But it's kind of strange, that you are forced to buy a helmet that the dealer supplies. You've got no choice! You want a Dainese, and the dealer only sells AGVs? Tough! You can't have what you want. ... and how does this cover the pillion(s)? Strange law...
