Piaggio , owner of fine motorcycle brands such as Moto Guzzi, Aprilia, Gilera and the iconic Vespa scooters, is set to reconquer the Indian market. Already earlier this year, Piaggio started selling Aprilia, but now they want to bring all their models to the market in India, starting with Vespa . This will be the third time Vespa is hitting the country, two other attempts (one with Bajaj in the '60s, the other in 1983 with LML Motors) failed after commercial disputes. But now Piaggio are planning to do it right, and will invest in a factory in India. The first Vespa scooter that will hit the showrooms will be the Vespa LX125. They will further study the market for the other motorcycle brands, and if the market is there, you'll be seeing more Aprilia, and you'll be seeing people riding Guzzis and Gileras. Looks like India is getting crowded with every motorcycle manufacturer known to mankind.
