The government in India has mandated that starting 2011, all vehicles (cars, trucks and motorcycles) will have to display a tag that shows the vehicle's fuel efficiency. According to the Ministry, 15-20% of CO2 is provided by vehicles on the road. Manufacturers will need to clear the emission effect form the Bureau of Energy Efficiency. Something escapes me here..... By displaying a tag that shows your fuel efficiency on your motorcycle (or cars, etc), what will that do for cutting down CO2 pollution? In fact, it might do the opposite, since vehicles which are more fuel efficient will be sold for more, and many can't pay for them, so they'll go for vehicles that pollute more, since they'll be cheaper. Or am i seeing things wrong?
