	India: When Things Go Good, They Go Great 2 February 2010   File under  Statistics   Author: Mike Werner   Location: Normandy, France Wow. The place to be to outlive the economic downturn seems to be India. Already they were reporting great motorcycles sales figures last year (compared to the Western world), but just look at the January 2010 figures..... Bajaj , famous for their great TV ads, sold 101% more motorcycles, scooters and three wheelers than last year (233,049 units compared to 110,363 units). You can already picture the Board of Bajaj wringing their hands at all the money they'll be making. (Source: IndiaInfoline ) Their competitor, TVS Motor , jumped even higher. They recorded an increase of 266.95% for three wheelers, 43.05% increase for scooters and 23.34% increase for motorcycles sales in January 2010. (Source: Bloomberg UTV ) Hero Honda , the worlds largest PTWPowered Two Wheel - motorcyles, scooters, mopeds manufacturer, bumped up their January sales by 23.5 %, selling 315,458 unit. (Source: IndiaInfoline ). Meanwhile here in Europe and in the USA, manufacturers just want to be in a positive growth, while these kind of sales increases are stuff of wet dreams.
