Cingoli is a little unknown, and very old (64 BC) town in the middle of Italy. With a population of some 10,000 people, it's current claim to fame is that it hosts one of the Italian national sidecarcross races, and on the 16th of May 2010, it will host the FIM World sidecross championship leg for Italy. But Cingoli has another interest, and it's sidecar related as well. The city houses the International Sidecar Museum . Close to the race circuit itself, the museum not only has a very wide range of motorcycle sidecars, but also another interesting exhibit; Motorcycles & Cinema. Both exhibits have a large number of motorcycles and sidecars, either in a static display, or in a backdrop representing the motorcycle's origins (like a WWII Army sidecar would be presented in a battle scene). The Motorcycles & Cinema has either original or replica motorcycles from famous movies like The Great Escape , Easy Rider , The Wild One , Roman Holiday , The Motorcycle Diaries , The World's Fastest Indian and many others. The exhibit was used in the Paris Motorcycle Exhibition (Mondial) in 2007. Currently, the museum seems to be closed temporarily, but if you're visiting the region, this would be a great place to stop over and spend a few hours looking at the motorcycles and sidecars.
