You've got to love the Japanese. We've seen those special communities villages in the US, like golf, airplane and even motorcycle villages. If you're passionate about your hobby, and you want to be surrounded all the time by your passion, why not? In Tokyo, Japan, a city where space is at a very high premium, most people live in apartments. But even in apartments, space is at a premium. So some clever entrepreneur has built a small, 8 unit, apartment complex with a street level storage space that can accommodate a motorcycle. You'll notice from the above drawing, that the apartments are really small, though in Japan, this is considered quite big. Now, the happy owner can ride up his motorcycle, park it in his/her own private storage, and go up to the flat itself. In the middle of the building is a small circular courtyard. Apart from giving some air and space to the design, it also has a function: this is where you rotate your motorcycle so you can move it to the street. Nice touch. There's no space to park you car, so if you don't have a motorcycle, you're out of luck... Click here for more information and photos
