Times are tough, and the motorcycle industry is not spared. Well known off-road motorcycle manufacturer, KTM, announced that they are letting go of 300 employees. 150 from their leasing division and 150 from the core company. They might also be forced to start using their "surviving" employees on a part-time basis. The Austrian firm further plans to reduce their production by 25%. All this despite the 30 million Euro increase in capital coming from Cross Industries and their new Indian partner, Bajaj. Despite the bad news, their CEO remains optimistic, since motorcycle manufacturers are better situated to weather the financial storm. Let's hope so....
