An English lawyer, Clive Wolman, who tried to get out of paying his 100 parking tickets he gathered on his Suzuki motorcycle, lost his case. He claimed, that since his motorcycle was on a center stand, the wheels did not touch the ground, so he shouldn't have to pay...
The judges disagreed (I wonder why?). According to the judges, his (mis)interpretation of the word "on" showed the "unreality" of his argument.
Wolman started his legal fight back in May 2005, and had escalated to the Court of Appeals. He now not only has to pay his parking fines, but also the legal costs.
Oh well, it was worth a try....
