Love Helmets Base
Love them, hate them, need them, despise them, it doesn't matter, whether you're for them, or against them, motorcycle helmets are here to stay. And while some helmet manufacturers offer helmets that are not bland, some even flamboyant, here's a helmet that allows you to make up your own. It's a bit like several recent devices, like glasses, mobile phones, etc, that allow you to change their "skin".

French motorcycle helmet manufacturer, Love Helmets Open link in a new window, have a nice and trendy design for their range of helmets. Their helmets become not only trendy, but should form a part of fashion. Urban motorcycle & scooter riders often dress up before going to work or to hang out at the latest "in" bar. To arrive nicely dressed up, but with a bland helmet is not cool.

Love Helmets allows you to change the exterior within a minute. Buy the "skins" you want, and the neck collar, and you're in business.

The base helmet, a black jet style helmet, costs €170. For that you get a light, 890 grams open face helmet. A typical, bland motorcycle helmet... so far, nothing special.

Exterior Skins

But now come the interesting bits. You can buy one of many different exterior skins. There are many, ranging from different colors, to special funky designs.

They have straight colors, flags, cartoons, patterns, they even have one or two that have a headphone painted on them, or a camera. In fact, there are a lot of nice designs to choose from, some 60+ designs.

Now you can have a helmet that matches your clothes, mood or location without the cost associated of owning many helmets. Not bad...

Have a look at several of the skin exteriors I have compiled in this animated GIF below. If you don't see it, let it load, since it's quite big.

Prices range from €29 to €59 for one skin. You can obviously get as many as you want.

Then comes the neck collar. You can get different neck collars to match, or not, the skin you have on your helmet for the day.

Again, there are many different varieties to chose from, ranging from blue-jeans, to carbon to plain simple colors.

The price for a neck collar is €24.

On top of that, you'll want to splurge for a visor, costing you €49.

So for some €275 - €300 you get yourself a nice helmet, and for additional €70-80 you can change your daily design.

This must be ideal for a spy who is shadowing someone, like in the movies. They can change their look on every corner...
