	MBI Awards 2008: And The Winners Are.. 19 March 2008   File under  Awards   Author: Mike Werner   Location: Normandy, France The MBI awards are done for this year. After you nominated, and then voted for the best of the best motorcycle products (and the worst of the worst), all that was left for us MBIers was to count the votes. Not easy, since there were thousands of you who voted. But, no recounts are needed, we know who won. These awards are run by MBI, but it was you the reader who decided what was best, nor journalists or experts. It's the real riders who choose, hence the awards name; Riders Choice! So here are the winners (followed by the losers). MBI Riders Choice Star Awards 2008: The MBI Riders Choice Star Awards are given to the best the motorcycle industry had to offer during 2007 (though some are for all years). Best New in 2007 Motorcycle (The overall best production motorcycle that was new in 2007.) Triumph Street Triple 675 Best New in 2007 Scooter (The overall best production scooter that was new in 2007.) Piaggio MP3 400 Object of Lust (The production motorcycle of any model year that is desired above all others.) Ducati Desmosedici RR Best Concept Motorcycle or Scooter (The concept motorcycle/scooter displayed at a show for the first time in 2007 whose features are most appealing.) Honda Evo 6 Most Environmentally Friendly Motorcycle (Motorcycle model that best demonstrates attention to using renewable resources and reducing damage to life on this planet.) ElectricMoto Corporation Blade XT Women Riders Booster of the Year (The person, company or organization that has most contributed to the advancement of women motorcyclists during 2007.) Lois Pryce (20,000 mile solo ride, Alaska to the tip of South America on a 225cc bike) Wish We'd Thought of That (The new in 2007 innovation, accessory or other motorcycle related product that is the best idea of 2007.) KTM Bread Toaster Thumbs Up (The person or organization who during 2007, made the most significant contribution to motorcycling.) Ewan McGregor/Charlie Boorman ( Enhanced image of motorcycle riders) Best Manufacturer's Website (The motorcycle, accessory or related product manufacturer’s web site that has the best mix of quality design, content and ease of use.) BMW Motorrad MBI Riders Choice Fallen Star Awards 2008: The MBI Riders Choice Fallen Star awards are given to those companies or people for a serious lapse of judgement in 2007. Most Disappointing New Motorcycle (The new in 2007 motorcycle that least met expectations.) Suzuki B-King Thumbs Down (The person, company or organization who during 2007, most harmed the image of motorcycling.) Loud Pipes Save Lives What Were They Thinking (The concept or production motorcycle, related product or other idea that is the worst idea of 2007.) Babecage Worst Manufacturer's Website (The motorcycle or related product manufacturer’s web site that we most hate to visit.) Cycleport/Motoport Thank you to all of you who have voted.
