French tire giant, Michelin , introduced a couple of new tires last year meant for discerning motorcycle riders (see related articles below), and to mark the occasion, they are adding new categories to their Michelin Power Cup motorcycle races. Already the Michelin Power Cup included the 600cc, 1000cc and Open Speed categories, but to make the race really available to all, they have added: - Newbee category for 600cc to 1000cc, meant for real beginning racers
- Endurance, a four hour race for two riders and one motorcycle, with 600cc, 1000cc, twins and Ladies only.
People who want to give racing a try, or are already accomplished riders can sign up for individual races without having to commit to a whole season. There will be three instructors on the track to help you for the events. “The MICHELIN power cup focuses on sports performance and a spirit of friendly competition,” says Yvan Gomba, head of Motorcycle Tire Marketing and Sales for France and the Benelux countries. “Open to amateurs of all levels, it also gives riders an opportunity to take advantage of Michelin's technological skills and expertise.”
