So you wanted to ride your motorcycle through Europe this summer, enjoying the mountains and coastal roads of France and Italy? But instead you decided to go to Sturgis, or use the money to pay for that dental operation. No worries, since Harley-Davidson Open link in a new window France comes to your rescue.

Harley France Video Map
They have launched a web site Open link in a new window with an incredibly well done, interactive 360° experience of riding the roads between Lyon in France via Torino, the Dolomites, Lake Como, Milan, Genova, Monaco, Nice, Cannes to Gap, France. A 7 day trip, with 12 different stages, the video is incredible!

Once you've selected the part of the trip on the map you're interested in (remember, it's a French Harley-Davidson site, so everything is in French), the video starts playing. So far, nothing out of the ordinary, it's like any YouTube site.

But wait.... you can click on the video image, and drag left, right, up or down so see that part of the image. You can also enlarge the video to full screen, and look at the road, the sky, the rider in full screen mode (Note: All the images on your right were taken from the same shot while in pause mode).

So you can see what's in front of you, but you can turn and see who is riding, or what the scenery looks like on the side. Want to check the weather, look up. Very nifty...

Ride the Dolomite mountains, or Lake Como. Want to see what Milan looks like on a motorcycle? Or ride with Hubert Auriol Open link in a new window from Monaco to the mountains.

I have to say, it's almost like being there. You don't really need any translation for the site, it's pretty self-evident. Have a look what riding in that part of Europe look like from a motorcycle.

Enjoy... I know I did.
