Troubled Italian motorcycle manufacturer, Moto Morini Open link in a new window, has been saved by none other than the Italian Prime Minister's brother, Paolo Berlusconi.

Berlusconi bought Moto Morini for €2.5 million. He is not an unknown in terms of the motorcycle industry, since he already owns the more unknown Garelli Open link in a new window.

Berlusconi was recently linked to the purchase of MV Agusta, so maybe he's gone shopping for Italian motorcycles, and will sone be the owner of multiple brands, competing with Piaggio.

I'm glad that for the time being Moto Morini is safe, and hopefully we can see more of their exciting motorcycles.
