There. I managed to make my first "web" for the Apple iPhone. I converted the "Motorcycle-friendly accommodation in France" database for iPhone usage. It's meant for the iPhone, though you can access it on the web (so presume on other mobile phones). If you manage to read it on another style mobile phone, let me know what it looks like.
You will need to go on-line to see what's available here in France, since it's not an application that you can download, but it's an iPhone compatible website. If you don't have an iPhone, here's what it looks like:
Your first screen is a menu (and yes, there's one ad, but that's it for ads). Your selections are:
1. Every type of biker friendly accommodation
2. Camping only
3. Hotel & Gites (guest houses)
4. B & B (Bed & Breakfast)
5. Bunk beds
Sometimes one place can offer multiple types, e.g. a camping can offer camping, B&B and bunk beds, so that specific accommodation can be found several times.
After having selected you are presented with this screen:
I've divided France into several main regions (more or less). Apart from North, West, South and East, I've sub-divided these in smaller section. I'm working on a map, but that will take some time.
After selecting a region, you are presented with this:
These are all the establishments I have found (so far, since there are a lot more coming). You can scroll down the list.
After selecting a name, you'll need to wait a few seconds, since I've got to load all the data. This is what it looks like:
It shows in this part a photo of the place, the geographical area, some data on the place (kids safe, biker owner, motorcycle only, languages spoken, and the type of accommodation and how many);
When you scroll down, you see the services and minimum prices offered. Scroll further and you see:
A live Google map, where you can zoom in and out to see where it is.
I hope this is of use. Let me know if you like it.
Click here to access it (either via iPhone or web browser).
Thanks to Jeff Gilfelt for his code .
