Sounds kind of strange doesn't it? Lots of people get hurt in the Paris Metro (underground), so why single out a motorcycle rider? Well, in this case it truly was a motorcycle rider... A 43 year old biker who at 7:35 in the morning was riding his Suzuki motorcycle in the bus lane (which is not allowed in Paris), when a truck was maneuvering and turning to the right, blocking the biker's passage. Instead of slowing down, the biker decided to accelerate, hoping to go through the diminishing gap. But he was not fast enough, and the motorcycle was pushed onto the sidewalk, and down the stairs on the Madeleine Metro station. A Parisian Metro station entrance | With luck, he did not hit anyone while going down the stairs, but he did bang himself up quite badly and is in critical condition in the hospital. I hope they don't get him for going into the Metro station without a valid ticket...
