We know that being a biker is not a risk-free life. Accidents can happen at any moment, and even with the best protection that the motorcycle industry has to offer, we're never 100% safe. But now according to Randall Dale Chipkar, an author of the book "Motorcycle Cancer", we stand the chance of suffering from a series of deadly cancers. Prostate, colon, kidney and bones can all be at risk of cancer. The reason; according to Chipkar, the electromagnetic radiation coming from the engine shoots right up into our body. Our motorcycle seats offer no protection whatsoever. The extremely low frequency (ELF) electromagnetic field (EMF) radiation shoot right through the seats. Chipkar states "The motorcycle industry needs to further investigate this possible EM danger and, if necessary, implement protective measures to minimize rider radiation exposure. Consumer safety is priority. An EMF radiation shielding seat can provide riders with peace of mind,".
Chipkar adds, “Historically, governments and various EM related industries (hydro-electric, cell tower, cell phone, etc.) have denied EM health effects so as to not create panic. Governments need to reassess their position on electromagnetic health issues for public safety. Science proves electromagnetic danger. Now that a type of motorcycle ELF EMF has been exposed, I hope denial is not going to be considered as a solution,”. The book is a collection of information, thoughts and theories, no real facts. It's not meant to scare you, but to make you think, and to ensure that the issue gets properly studied by the industry.
NOTE: Sounds like scare-mongering to me. If no real tests have been performed by labs and cancer statistics amongst bikers analyzed , then there's no basis... is there?? When the airline industry started looking into in-flight radiation, they measured radiations on many flights, and found that among flight crews who took the Polar routes, there was a much higher incidence of cancer then the general population. Those were real research and analysis, and even there, they have not managed to come to a real health scare.... What do you think? Is this a realistic threat, or not???? | Click here to read more
