Score: Plot: 4 Acting: 3 Visual: 3 Sound: 3 Nudity: Yes Gore: a tad | Stone is a bit of an unusual motorcycle movie. It's Australian, made in 1974, and despite there being two big biker gangs (called the Grave Diggers), there are virtually no choppers present in the movie. Seeing a biker movie without choppers, is like going to a brothel without any hookers. All of the main gang's motorcycles, Kawasakis, are sports bikes. But the characters are like their US counterparts, real biker gang members, with their colors, patches and mean looking faces. Their leader, Undertaker, sleeps in a coffin. It's the first movie I've seen where there's a motorcycle hearse riding around. Another strange thing is that all the main gang's motorcycles are the same Kawasaki 900, except the main character who is on a Norton. The rival biker gang members have different bikes, including one Ducati and even choppers. For the film, they used some 400 real bikers in one scene. The plot: A biker gang is being killed off. The cops infiltrate the gang in order to find out why. He's not much of an undercover cop, only for 10 seconds. Cop finds a satanic sect, but they accept him despite knowing that he's a cop. He tries to find out who is killing the gang and why. So a kind of basic story... Verdict: Not a bad movie as biker movies go. A decent plot, acting, characters, and lots of motorcycle riding. It has it all, biker against biker shoot outs, inter gang fights, very pretty and naked girls (and guys), and motorcycles, lots of them. The story-line is easy to follow. The filming is that of the 70's so a bit psychedelic. Quotes: "When you are on a bike, a big bike, you've got all this power, it's the greatest feeling in the world". "Once you've ridden a fast bike, you'll never wants to do anything else".
