New Great Motorcycle TV Show - Global

It's not only in North America that several motorcycle related TV shows have recently been made, or are being made. The United Kingdom, home of the famous Top Gear TV program will see a new TV show start concentrating purely on motorcycles. But the interesting thing is that the producers are not going to keep it in the UK, it's going global.

The new show is called "Bike Torque Open link in a new window", and will start showing after the riding season in the autumn of this year. The motorcycle show will look into all aspects of the motorcycle culture; new motorcycles models, tests/reviews, laws, technology, culture and events.

The show will be presented by three presenters, journalist Steve Berry Open link in a new window (former presenter of Top Gear, and motorcycle journalist) as the head honcho, Paul Moody (custom bike builder) and motorcycle stuntman Craig Jones Open link in a new window. The show will be humorous with lots of information.

The show will be in a magazine format, and apart from biking events, you'll get to see regular celebrities. Only thing missing is a "Celebrity on a reasonably priced motorcycle"....but who knows, maybe that will come too.

I reached out to the producers of the show, and here's what I found out:

The show starts in the UK, and when it is transmitted later this year, already 13 episodes will have been made. But what's more interesting for most of you, is that the show will be available globally. First of all, several negotiations are currently in final stages with international syndication in Asia, Europe and Americas. But the shows will also be available in VODVideo On Demand - Video on Demand (VOD) or Audio and Video On Demand (AVOD) are systems which allow users to select and watch/listen to video or audio content on demand. . format. This means you can see the show whenever and wherever you are.

The UK TV broadcaster can not be named, since the contract has not been signed, but will be made known shortly, but things are looking good. The fact that you can watch it on TV, and if it's not shown in your country, you can download it, is a great thing.

Though the team is from the UK, the show is not about the UK motorcycle scene. The first series of 13 episodes are made in the UK, the next 13 will be in Europe and the following series will be in North America.

The web site, though available, will go on-line on June the 1st. Apart from the shows, it will be full of other motorcycle content. Not only will you be able to see the shows, but also how they are made.

Filming starts this month at the Peterborough BMF Open link in a new window show on the 14th. From there they continue to the Battistinis California Dreamin' Expo Open link in a new window on the 28th of May.

The show, in contrast with Top Gear, will have people who actually love motorcycles, not hate them. It's a show made by bikers, for bikers. And it's about time we had our own popular show. Exciting!
