I'm lost in what it is... is it a new old one, or an old new one? What I am talking about is the former Hero Honda from India. The Honda portion split off (article  ), and a new motorcycle manufacturer got created and unveiled, called Hero MotoCorp .
The launch of the "new" Indian company was held, for whatever reason, in London, UK. It's not like the new company is a lightweight, anything but. It's already quite an elephant for a start-up, with an envisaged $10 BILLION sales target in the next 5 years.
The manufacturer expects to be making 10 million units per year to be sold in India, and 2 million to be sold abroad.
Not only did they launch the company, they also launched the reported Dual-Purpose motorcycle (article ), now called the Impulse. The Impulse has a 150 cc engine, and looks surprisingly like the Honda NXR150 BROS (sold in Brazil).
So India will continue to see three big players making motorcycles in their market, Bajaj, TVR and Hero.
