What a great PR idea. What can you do if you're low on your publicity budget, but still want to access as many random people as you can with your message. Or in this case, what to do when your customer, Harley-Davidson , challenges you to reach a potential new & young buyers market. What do you do? Use FaceBook, naw, too popular, Twitter? Glory moment gone. Google Buzz? Not enough. The publicity agency Sassenbach Advertising came up with a novel idea to show the Harley-Davidson logo to potential buyers. If you already know what Chatroulette is, skip the rest of the paragraph. ChatRoulette is the latest internet fad. Invented by a Russian teenager, the internet service consists of randomly connecting you and someone somewhere in the world, and using a connected webcam, allowing you to talk to a stranger. ChatRoulette picks people at random, so you never know who you are going to be talking to (which can have its disadvantages). Some 500,000 people connect daily to ChatRoulette, so it's quite popular. Sassenbach simply made the sign below, costing two times nothing, subscribed to ChatRoulette, hooked up the webcam, placed the sign in front of the webcam, and left it there. People on the other side randomly connect to their camera and get to see the "Gone Riding" sign.... You can see a video of the people's reactions. Too cool! Click here to go to Sassenbach and see the video .
