 The vintage off-road motorcycle brand, OSSA , re-born from the ashes of their demise, and after a long hiatus (see related articles below), had come back in 2009 with a trial motorcycle, the Ossa TR280i . Now, the Spanish manufacturer have released details of their new motorcycle, the Ossa Explorer. Based on the well selling TR280i, the new motorcycle is an off-road motorcycle that can be used for those that want to explore the countryside, without the benefit of roads, in other words, true off-roading. The first Explorer was unveiled back in 1972 in Paris, and the new creation maintains its style and ease of use.
The liquid cooled 272 cc 2-stroke injection engine is a motorcycle that is in-between a Trial and an Enduro motorcycle; very light (74 kilos) and with an 8.6 liter fuel tank. The bike has a 6 speed transmission, and Injection Start System using a lithium battery. The motorcycle is ideal to jump obstacles with a low center of gravity and low saddle (820 mm height) and a ground clearance of 340 mm.
The bike will be on sale in Europe starting March 2012, and worldwide at a later stage. The motorcycle is going to be sold for around €5900. The official unveiling will be at EICMA in November.
