Matra is not exactly a company you'd expect on the motorcycle exhibition, since they are a car manufacturer, or should I say, were a car manufacturer; They used to make race cars that won the 24 hours of Le Mans.

But they closed down, and now only a small team of designers have been working away at their future. And their future looks very interesting. At the Mondial, they showed for the first time their electric, hybrid, motorcycle, the MS1.

The MS1 is fully electric, but also has pedal power.

The brakes generate electricity, so when braking it will re-supply the bike with current.

Performance is very interesting. 45 kph speed limit (with pedal power), limited by law, it can go faster. With no pedal power, the MS1 has a range of 100 kms, with pedal power, limited to your performance.

The electric motorcycle is interesting for those living in the city, and needing to commute. Price will be around €3500.

More later.

I just need some more information about the bike for making comments:

    1. Time needed for recharging of the battery?

    2. How many recharging cycles is the battery designed for?

    3. Is it possible to use the bike on bad roads?

    Appears pretty good design.

For US $ 3500 price, soon you wil get a Car.(from India) 4 seater, all metal body, 600-650 cc very efficient engine, many safety features good enough for 70 km top speed. NOT one but atleast four choices..Tata, Nissan, Suzuki and one from Korea.

Please try some collaborations from India or China. Costs can be brought down to 200 US $ equivalent. Then Market size is atleast

    10 million pieces every year.

    Good Luck.

Why are they going to produce this? It is so expensive. Its like 5000 US. Its like how e-bike went out of business, its wayyy to expensive for such a small amount of stuff. Also, why not just get a real motorcycle that does over 50kph! (30mph). This is just retarded.
