Not exactly an "invention" that I have been waiting for, but there you go, there are probably a few bikers out there that are jumping up & down from joy. Terry Lovett filed this patent last year, and it's for a bag to be fixed to your motorcycle's windscreen and handlebar. In his own words (more probably his lawyer's words): | The present invention is a vehicle accessory and specifically a removable bag that can be securely fastened to a windshield frame of a motorcycle. The motorcycle windshield bag further includes a back wall, having at least four holes positioned approximately in each corner of the bag and a metal grommet; two side walls; a top portion having a flap; and a front wall defined by a curved surface having a first part and a second part of equal elevation relative to an indented portion, wherein the indented portion provides a space that conforms to a motorcycle handlebar clamp while still maximizing internal bag space. |
| The bag is fixed to your windscreen, and allows you to access stuff even when riding. The idea is actually not that bad, since often you need to fumble for coins for toll booths, wipes, maps, etc. But a tank bag will do that trick as well. Hmmm... I wonder if this will actually become a product, and that it will sell. You'll need many variations depending on your motorcycle brand and model. And for sure, it'll not work on sports motorcycles, more likely only on Harley-Davidson style motorcycles. Would you buy & install one of these on your bike?
