I love reading through Google Patents Search  . You can obviously see new motorcycle stuff before it hits the streets (if it ever does since most don't); any designer worth his/her weight will file for a patent.
But sometimes you find real nuggets, or in this case smelly nuggets. Inventor Ronald John Rosenberger has filed for a patent for an incredible, how can I say this diplomatically ...... totally stupid, idea; a scented tire!!!
His idea, if you read the patent, is that motorcycle tires (or any other vehicle tire) will release a pheromone or fragrance from within the tire.
In other words, when you do that burnout at Sturgis next year, instead of the smell of burning rubber you'll get the smell of lavender, or rose petals. For the gourmet bikers, you can also choose to have your tires smell of cinnamon.....
