Nowadays riding your motorcycle is not only dangerous with all those soccer moms driving SUVs, but also the government is out there trying to get your hard earned money. Radars are multiplying like caged rabbits. Every country has them, and most of us will have received a ticket for speeding, even when we don't ride our motorcycles fast. Putting a radar detector on your handlebars is one way of preventing tickets, but there's one major drawback: you need to keep an eye on the detector. Legal Speeding Enterprises make a product called Helmet Assisted Radar Detection (H.A.R.D). HARD is a wireless transmitter that gets bolted onto your radar detector, and inside your helmet there's a wireless receiver and a small LEDLight-emitting diode. The LED gets placed in the front of your helmet inside the padding (there's always enough space for it). It's small, so it doesn't block your view. Once you ride your motorcycle close to a speed trap, it starts blinking. No matter where you're looking at that moment, you can't miss it!! Hit the brakes! The unit currently only works on full face and flip-up helmets, and on Escort 8500, 7500, 6800 & S-2, Beltronics RX65 and the Valentine One radar detectors. Price: US$ 160 (not counting the detector). Of course, in many countries (like here in France) detectors are highly illegal, so better check your local laws..
