Nice idea.... French company Eurovia , a leading international company for road construction, are testing 5 areas, each 50 kilometers length, in France with a new road coloring scheme. The new technology allows for roads to change color depending on the outside temperature. The idea is for the road to turn pink when reaching freezing point. Above 1°C, the road patch is transparent, and below 1°C it becomes pink. This way, you the rider will know if your motorcycle and you are at risk, and it also tells the road maintenance to start spreading salt. The patches are not resistant to sun light or salt, so should last quite some time. The product is still undergoing testing, so don't expect pink roads in your neighborhood anytime soon. Imagine riding your motorcycle along a nice winding road, and suddenly it turns pink...... WTF??
