Chinese speed chicane
Speed bumps are a thing of the past, since it has been proven that they are murder towards the motorcycle suspension (and rider butts).

The latest craze for urban planner is a chicane Open link in a new window. Chicanes on their own are easy for motorcycles, as we can normally take them at any speed, since they were designed for cars. They are often more fun than a hindrance.

But not this one!

In the province of ShanXi in China, not only have they placed a chicane, but the road is narrow and side are TALL. Made out of 2 feet high concrete, this must be a nightmare for cars and trucks (notice all the scrapings along the side of the concrete).

At least us motorcycle have a fighting chance, but I wouldn't want to be riding one that leaves it trajectory by more than 5 centimeters....

The last thing you want to do is ride there while DUIDriving Under Influence. Drinking and driving.... Smoking Joint Smiley
