For those of you who like taking part on track days, racing down a race track somewhere in the world, you know those telemetry boxes you can often rent for a lot of money? It'll tell you your lap times, averages, etc, and give you a lot of telemetry data so you can adjust your suspension, loads, and riding style in order to shave off a few milliseconds. An Italian company named AIM , can help you with it, far easier and cost effective. With the SOLO tracker, you get much more than a GPS tracking device. The IP65 rainproof device is placed on your motorcycle (you will need a 12V feed, or use the rechargeable battery, giving you 4 to 6 hours riding pleasure), and you'll not need anything else on the track; no capturing devices on the wall, no spotters or staff. Just you and the device. The GPS, since it's a GPS, will recognize where you are, and since most race tracks of the world have been pre-configured in its internal database, will bring up the track's parameters. All you go to do is start riding your motorcycle. If the track is not in the database, for example if you are racing in your back yard, you can use their GPS Manager (click on the image above for a bigger version), and create the track for the database. You can display several types of lap times on the SOLO display, allowing you to keep an eye on your progress. Static Lap Times, Predictive Lap Time and best Lap Time. You can also select what data is displayed on the SOLO device; speed, lap times, distance, etc. Once you've finished, or are pausing your laps, you can use the Race Studio 2 Analysis (click on the image below for a bigger version) to analyze your performance. The SOLO device has a built-in accelerometer, allowing to record your accelerations.
