The world famous Royal Air Force Aerobatic Display Team, the Red Arrows  , traded in their Hawk fighter jets for something much more mundane; a Vespa 125 S scooter. They did not do this because the fighter jets are too fast or to help the British economy save some money on petrol, but for a charity run.
The 10 Red Arrows pilots, plus 4 pilots of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, went riding their scooters across the UK, travelling some 1,000 miles from Land's End  to John O'Croats . If they would have done it in their jets, it would have taken them an hour or so, but with the slightly slower Vespa, it took them 4 days.
The Vespa Red Arrows team left on the 30th of September and "landed" in John O'Croats on October the 3rd.
