We've seen several jet-fighter style helmets for motorcycles, but some fighter pilots have some seriously cool helmet gear, and now one of them has been approved for motorcycles. It's not really a "real" jet-fighter helmet (that would make it really expensive), but the Japanese Marushin B2 Pilot helmet looks like a real military fighter pilot helmet, bulges on the side included. The B2 motorcycle helmet comes in different colors and visors, all with military decals. The inside has adjustable ventilation and weighs about 1400 grams. The different visors available are retracted inside the helmet. According to the blurb, outside noise is brought down to a minimum. Let's face it, you don't want to hear those bullets hitting your bike. You can get it even in a camouflage coloring. I don't know how safe those bulges are, but in the interest of aesthetics, how cares (I do...). The UK helmet testing site SHARP (from the UK government) has tested several Marushin helmets, and many have gotten the coveted 5 star rating, though this one has not been tested yet. Price is between €161 and €173 depending on visor and version. Bandits at 6 o'clock, tally ho.... Click here to access the Marushin site (you can download their catalog).
