I've always loved classic looking motorcycles, but never bothered since I am equipped with two left hands, unable to maintain even a flat tire. But nowadays you can buy new old motorcycles. You can obviously splurge on a Royal Enfield, or pay less for a cool looking run-around motorcycle, the Ridley . Ridley have 4 vintage motorcycles, all equipped with either a 50 cc or a 70 cc engine. They are all 2 stroke engines, so in some countries you may run foul due to antipollution legislation. The four models are (top to bottom) the Twin, Desert, Chief and 1903. But if you need something to run to the local bakery and get some croissants, or, if you have had the bad luck of being caught once to often speeding, and your precious license has been taken away, this might just be a good alternative. They're not exactly cheap, US$1999, but still more affordable than an Enfield or Ural. The 50 cc version goes 24 miles per hour, but gets a consumption of 120 miles to the gallon. The 70 cc version will ride a lighting fast 33 mph. Fun. Click here for more information (thanks Ian Ross)
