Many of the Asian motorcycle manufacturers, particularly those in India, are making impressive figures. Recently Royal Enfield have released their 2011 figures, and not surprisingly, they are strong and impressive.
During 2011 the Indian (former British) brand sold 74,626 motorcycles, compared to 52,576 sold during 2010, an increase of 42%. And this should continue in 2012, since their order book is full 6 months in advance. Customers need to wait some 6 months to get their motorcycle.
By the beginning of next year, their new factory should be operational, and should be able to make 150,000 units per year.
