Any city with dense traffic will see the inevitable arrival of motorcycle taxis. It just makes sense, since many business folks need to arrive on time for that important meeting, flight, train or dinner. Normal car based taxis just will not cut it during rush hour. So motorcycle taxis flourish in cities with a lot of cars. One such city is Moscow, Russia. Traffic can be so dense that cars are at a total standstill for hours. So it's no surprise that the Russian capital city has now gotten a motorcycle taxi company: 1Motto . Their main choice for motorcycle, is the Piaggio MP3 scooter. Three wheels are more "emotionally comfortable" for the customer. Many customers are not motorcycle riders, just plain business folks, and they probably think that a 3-wheeler is safer than a 2-wheeler. But apart from the famous MP3 scooter, which can only be used in the summer months, 1Motto have another three-wheel vehicle in their stable. This one can be used all year round. It's the Dutch Carver . The Carver is an immensely fun motorcycle, fast and versatile, that can go round corners faster than a motorcycle, and safer. It's expensive (about €50,000), but can be a good investment for a taxi company that needs to compete all year round. According to their blurb, the 1Motto riders all are professionals, with at least 4 years experience. But then seeing this publicity photo does not impress me... ATGATTAll The Gear, All The Time - meaning you always wear all your safety gear.? Anyway, if you're in Moscow, you can either reserve on their site, or call them. The site is in Russian only, but Google Translate is your friend. Click here to access their site (in Russian).
