Riding your motorcycle with one of your kids as pillion can be fun and rewarding for both. But it can also be a source of constant worries. Children don't see danger the same we do (well.. mostly). They can wiggle on their seats, or even lean way over the side, and when riding your motorcycle at 60 mph, it's not clever. When riding on a long trip, there's always the chance that they fall asleep and fall over onto the road. You could of course just tie them up with a rope, but that's not practical nor is it safe. One alternative is the Canadian made BackRider . The BackRider is a 5 point safety harness that is attached to you and your kid. The harness is made of out Denier Cordura Nylon material. The belt that fits the rider comes in either Regular size or Large, depending on how many beers you've been drinking... the two sizes are interchangeable, so if the Missus wants to ride, she takes the Regular one, and when the Mister wants to have a go, he fits on the Large size... The kids harness is comfortable and supports his/her riding position. There's also a helmet padding in the back, supporting the kid's helmet. Very handy, since often helmets are too heavy for children, even the special children's helmets. Price: C$ 295 Of course this means if you fall off your bike, your kid goes off as well.... Now, if I could get one with a bigger kid's size, I could strap my SWMBOShe Who Must Be Obeyed in and prevent her from falling asleep on our long trips....
